Day115, Tanuka Indian village

We drove more than 2 hours by boat from Manaus to arrive at the Tanuka tribe village. They are almost one hundred members on this island that have never left or would want to leave. Their daily food consist of three items fish(that they catch by bow and arrow), fried ants , and cassava flour that they turn into a sort of breadcrumbs. As you can see they don’t cover up( we even had to dance a traditional dance with the women and my mum and Uma had to dance with the men). They have no electricity and when asked if they would move to the city or go visit they answer”why? when we have everything right here”!! Life here is very basic and simple and everyone works together. Member can only marry from other tribes to not inter marry. What an incredible experience to see. These people are so kind and peaceful, and love our HAIR!! You can even do a tour for a maximum of five nights experiencing the life and culture of these indigenous Indians. anyone up for it?pierce and Fynn

  1. What a β€˜tribal’ experience!! Did you guys eat the ants or did you pass? I can see this amazing experience being in your college essays, in the future, and getting you in! This really is the best education ever- even for us in Miami, reading your blog πŸ˜ƒ
