Christ the Redeemer is an Art Deco statue created by French sculptor Paul Landowski and built by the Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silvia Costa. It is on the list of the New 7 wonders of the world and stands 98 ft tall. It took 9 years to build and the reinforced concrete is covered with 6 million stone tiles made from soapstone. Some people say Christ the Redeemer is a cross and other say it is Christ inviting a hug( a gesture as one of welcoming and peace) what do you think??
