Day 104. Curitiba

Today we woke up in beautiful Curitiba, the capital of the Southern Brazilian state Parana. We took a train through the Atlantic rain forest seeing all the beautiful fauna and flora Brazil has to offer. There are more than 2000 species of plants and 500 species of birds. The ride was four hours to Morretes. The oldest city in the south of Brazil. We passed the Serra do mar”most preserved area of the Brazilian Atlantic rain forest 🌳.” We went through and saw 14 tunnels, 30 bridges, canyons, gorges, and waterfalls. Truly beautiful. At Morretes we ate a traditional meal which includes banana also known as plantain here, fish, rice, Barreado, and shrimp. Barreado the typical dish of Parana, is a meat stew that is cooked in a clay pot for over 17 hours. Then it is mixed with cassava flour. They even flipped this dish over my head, but I didn’t drop. What a great day.🇧🇷😀
