Day 69, El Tatio Geysers

Last day here in the beautiful desert of Atacama. Early morning to view the geysers of El Tatio located within the Andes Mountains at 4320 meters above sea level. It’s word comes from the Quechua word for oven. It is the highest elevation geyser fields in the world, third largest following Yellowstone National Park in the USA, and Valley of Geysers in Russia. Did you know that people used to swim in the 80’s in one of the heated hot springs until  they discovered there was arsenic in the water😳 Also, that Chile has 3000 volcanoes with 9active due to the collision of the Oceanic and a continental Tectonic plates!

Loved seeing another part of this beautiful country. More examples of Earths beauty, making friends, speaking Spanish and learning about astrology, volcanos, rock formations and Geysers.
