We arrived in isla Mujeres which is an island in the Caribbean Sea. In pre-Columbian times the island was sacred to theMayas goddess of childbirth and medicine, Ixchel. When the Spanish arrived in the 16th century they named it “isla Mujeres”( island of women) This charming isla is where we will go to swim with Whale Sharks (here for feeding on krill June-August) and scuba the underwater statue museum.
