Day 14 Granada, Nicaragua

Last day in Nicaragua. Enjoyed touring the charming town of Geranada. Hernandez de Córdoba founded it in 1524. Nicaragua’s currency “Córdoba” is also named after him. Granada is also considered to be one of the oldest cities in Central America.

Heading for another hike on Mombacho volcano( 1344 meters high) it would take 1,5 hours to hike around one of the dormant crater, but we didn’t make the whole trail as the weather changed suddenly and began to pour😩 The last explosion in 1570 caused the two island volcanoes in lake Nicaragua ( concepsion and madera) and more than 430 islets.

See you in Costa Rica
